Julie has been baking delicious slow fermented native thyme flavoured sourdough breads for our events for over twenty years. Our Tour and Taste lunch customers rave about our bread, often wanting to buy some to take home! Julie will share her secrets in how to make perfect crusty sourdough bread with minimum effort. This fast bread method requires little time investment compared to other methods but still produces delicious sourdough.
You will learn how to make the loaf from the beginning and then get to take home some starter so you can start making your own loaves from the class notes provided. We will bake a loaf together and enjoy it for morning tea.
Julie will also share how to make delicious yoghurt at home for a fraction of the price of store bought yoghurt. Class includes a forage tour of the native foods forest to gather the ingredients. Class will run from 10.00am to 12.30pm.
Our native foods shop and nursery will be open with a wide range of native food plants and teas and spices available for purchase on the day.
